Position Summary

The MISTRAS Group design, manufacture and install Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) systems for critical infrastructures globally. The SHM Systems are designed to monitor the integrity of various structures, such as bridges, wind turbines, oil rigs and other Oil and Gas structures to identify damage mechanisms and behaviours in order to look out for early warning of potential damage caused by the environments they operate in.

This is an exciting full time, permanent position which will provide an exciting opportunity to train and progress with a forward thinking Company. The post holder can be based at one of our 3 UK sites - Hartlepool, Over in Cambridgeshire or Bridgend.

Major Responsibilities/Activities
  • Work in an integrated manner with other key business stakeholders to provide compliance, legislative/regulatory guidance and supervision on all QHSE matters.
  • Work closely with the UK Leadership team to update on legislative changes with respect to QHSE compliance.
  • Advise, guide, support and promote awareness to our employees with respect to maintaining quality and safe working practices in alignment with the relevant policies and procedures.
  • Review, support and contribute to the maintenance of the Integrated Management System.
  • Work collaboratively to maintain our existing certifications and accreditations, including but not limited to ISO 9001/14001/45001, IRATA, and ISO/IEC UKAS 17020.
  • Manage the internal and external audit schedules to monitor compliance with above certifications and accreditations.
  • Take a lead role with developing and implementing new/novel MISTRAS QHSE initiatives.
  • Conduct lab/customer location safety tours whilst educating employees on best practises with regards to QHSE matters.
  • Work closely with the nominated Radiation Protection Supervisors within the organisation as well as our third-party Radiation Protection Advisor to ensure compliance with safe working practises in line with the UK regulations.
  • Act as a business partner to (i) maintain and (ii) develop new business opportunities (e.g., supporting tender responses, supplier registrations, client meetings etc).
  • Maintain, review and analyse records of statistics, information and data associated with QHSE metrics.
  • Where required, lead incident investigations, identifying opportunities for improvement to avoid future re-occurrences.
  • Take an active part in MISTRAS safety observations and good catch reporting programmes.
  • Comply with all appropriate QHSE policies and procedures.
