Position Summary

This is an exciting full time, permanent position which will provide an exciting opportunity to train and progress with a forward thinking Company. 

The Mistras Group design, manufacture and install Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) systems for critical infrastructures globally. The SHM Systems are designed to monitor the integrity of various structures, such as​bridges, wind turbines, oil rigs and other Oil and Gas structures to identify damage mechanisms and ​behaviours in order to look out for early warning of potential damage caused by the environments they operate in.

​The Project Engineer role provides primary support to the Project Manager in the management of one or more project contracts for the operation and acts as the Site Lead for the Project.

Major Responsibilities/Activities
  • Act as a single point of contact for customer(s) managing specific contracts.
  • Have demonstrable experience in NDT / SHM site inspection and installation - essential
  • Accountable for the delivery of the contract within the time and budget allocated.
  • Create and execute project plans - revise and maintain to achieve agreed deadlines.
  • Identify, select, and manage resources and assigned responsibilities, setting up and calibrating all inspection equipment used on the project.
  • Applying Inspection and testing techniques in accordance with applicable specifications and procedures.
  • Managing on-site risks and issues associated with project performance.
  • Interpreting and evaluating inspection results, preparation of client inspection reports
  • Reviewing and approving client inspection reports
  • As required, mentoring and training personnel in inspection methods.
  • Manage and report on day-to-day operational aspects of the projects.
  • Ensure all project related documents are maintained and kept current. 
  • Undertake site visits as required - some client projects may be up to 1 month away from home.
  • Comply with all appropriate QHSE policies and procedures and keep quality documentation up to date as required by the project.
