Our in-lab quality systems operate under the documentation, traceability, and witnessing requirements that defense programs impose. Defense assets have long operational lives, and their inspection and maintenance requirements evolve over time. MISTRAS supports the full lifecycle, from incoming material inspection and in-process production testing through in-service inspection. When defects are found, we also provide in-lab defect removal and certified weld repair. This ensures a consistent, capable partner across every phase of an asset's service life. It also reduces delays and accountability gaps associated with multiple service providers. 

Defense prime contractors depend on supply chains that span hundreds of suppliers. Many of these suppliers lack the internal quality infrastructure needed to provide consistent, documented conformance. MISTRAS provides vendor surveillance, source inspection, incoming material testing, and PMI services. These capabilities reduce the risk of nonconforming material entering the defense supply chain at the point of origin rather than being detected at the point of failure. 

Defense production programs and sustainment activities often operate under compressed timelines driven by operational requirements. MISTRAS provides rapid inspection and testing turnaround, including weld procedure and welder qualification, materials testing, and NDT. Results and documentation are delivered at the pace required by defense production and sustainment programs. This supports timely decision-making without compromising quality or compliance.
