Princeton Junction, NJ – January 2007 – MISTRAS Holdings Group has announced the acquisition of Petroleum & Refractory, Inc. (PRI), which will operate under the umbrella of CONAM Inspection and Engineering Services, Inc. Based in Benicia, CA, a northeast suburb of San Francisco, PRI is a Nondestructive Testing (NDT) company dedicated to delivering the highest standards of safety, service, quality and reliability with an experienced team of professionals including ASNT Level II & III technicians, API 510, 570, 653, and 936 Refractory inspectors. Dr. Sotirios J. Vahaviolos, Chairman and CEO of the MISTRAS Holdings Group states, “PRI strengthens our existing core offerings with excellent employees and an outstanding track record. We are elated to incorporate the refractory inspection services, especially API 936, into our extensive suite of NDT inspection solutions.”
Newly acquired services include the inspection and assessment of a comprehensive array of refractory lining systems, focusing on fluid bed combustors, roasters, kilns, flexi and fluid cokers, cat crackers, sulfur recovery units, steam methane reformers, furnaces and boilers. Mr. Robert “Bob” Beaver, Founder and President of PRI states, “By joining the MISTRAS family, PRI now has a global resource augmenting and enhancing NDT solution offerings, including advanced technologies to our current customer base. PRI also specializes in the performance of API 653 tank inspections. Mr. Ed Beaver, a Principal and Operations Manager of PRI, will head up CONAM’s new Tank Inspection Center of Excellence, whose initial focus will be to consolidate the expertise of CONAM and PRIs certified API 653 professionals.
