Accessing Hard-to-Reach Mining Locations

Many assets in the mining industry are difficult to access with traditional means, so MISTRAS provides dedicated diving, rope access, and fall protection teams to support our clients.

Our diving teams perform work on ports, ponds, water intakes, dams, and hydroelectric generation facilities to perform inspections and support maintenance and construction activities.

Rope access teams perform inspection, maintenance, and rock stabilization services on mining shafts, open pits, railroads, process sites, dams, and hydroelectric facilities.

We also offer experienced fall protection personnel to support mining operations through the inspection, certification, design, and installation of fall protection solutions including guardrails, anchors, hoists and more.

Rock Stabilization Services

MISTRAS’ rock stabilization team operates in difficult-to-reach areas (quarries, mines, cliffs, roads, railways, penstocks, dams, etc.) to prevent debris screes caused by natural or induced instabilities.

Our teams stabilize surfaces from a variety of damage mechanisms, including falling rocks, boulders, erosion, and landslides, to ensure the safe and reliable operations of adjacent infrastructure throughout construction, operation, and maintenance.

Many of our rock stabilization services are able to be performed in combination with rope access. Our services include:
