Position Summary
This is an exciting full time, permanent position which will provide an exciting opportunity to train and progress with a forward thinking Company. The post holder will have the opportunity to travel across both the UK and internationally to work on a variety of client’s sites.
The Mistras Group design, manufacture and install Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) systems for critical infrastructures globally. The SHM Systems are designed to monitor the integrity of various structures, such as bridges, wind turbines, oil rigs and other Oil and Gas structures to identify damage mechanisms and behaviours in order to look out for early warning of potential damage caused by the environmentsthey operate in.
Major Responsibilities/Activities
Our NDT Technician will carry out NDT tests and examinations on our client sites or at base and provide the results in a series of reports which are then delivered back to the client. We also ask our technicians to undertake access related projects with use of IRATA Rope Access and Confined Space skills and qualifications. You will take a lead role in the onsite delivery of such services, supporting the Delivery Managers and Project Managers with the following:
- Performing NDT activities in line with the job pack in a safe and efficient manner
- Managing client relations on site in a professional manner
- Applying testing criteria in accordance with applicable specifications
- Interpreting and evaluating inspection results
- Preparation of client inspection reports
- Reviewing and approving client inspection reports
- Mentoring and training apprentice NDT personnel in the method(s) in which certified
Minimum Requirements
Essential Qualifications:
- MPI PCN Level 2
- DPI PCN Level 2
- UT PCN Level 2 – 3.1, 3.2, 3.7, 3.8, 3.9
Preferred Qualifications
- IRATA Rope Access Level 1 or above (training can be provided)
- CCNSG
- CSCS
- IPAF MEWP Operators License
