Position Summary
We are looking for a Monitoring Systems Technician to support the delivery of Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) and remote monitoring systems across infrastructure, industrial, and energy projects.
Working closely with Monitoring Systems Engineers, you’ll support the installation, commissioning, and maintenance of sensing and data acquisition systems. This is a hands-on technical role with a strong pathway for development; training will be provided for the right candidate.
The role is well suited to someone who enjoys practical work, technology, and learning how complex systems operate in real-world environments.

Major Responsibilities/Activities
- Supporting engineers during the installation and commissioning of monitoring systems
- Assisting with installation of sensors, cabling, data acquisition hardware, and enclosures
- Supporting system testing and basic fault-finding activities
- Preparing equipment, tools, and materials for site work
- Supporting the transition from installation to live monitoring
- Maintaining accurate site and project records
- Working in accordance with health, safety, and quality procedures
- Travel is project-based and planned, typically involving periods of less than two weeks away from home.
- Projects may involve working at height and/or confined space working.
- Projects may be UK-based, overseas, or offshore, depending on customer requirements.
Minimum Requirements
- Practical, hands-on aptitude and willingness to learn
- Interest in engineering, electronics, instrumentation, or monitoring systems
- Comfortable working on site and in varied environments
- Good attention to detail and ability to follow procedures
- Full UK driving licence
- Desirable (but not essential):
- Background in engineering, electronics, or technical field work
- Experience with site-based or field roles
- Basic electrical or mechanical skills
- Basic knowledge of IT networks
- Training and certification including: CSCS, GWO, working at height, confined space
Full training will be provided for candidates with the right attitude and aptitude.
