Position Summary

This is an exciting full time, permanent position which will provide an exciting opportunity to train and progress with a forward thinking Company. The post holder will have the opportunity to travel across both the UK and internationally to work on a variety of client’s sites.

MISTRAS Group designs, manufactures, and installs Structural Health Monitoring (SHM) systems for critical infrastructures globally. The SHM systems are designed to monitor the integrity of various structures, such as bridges, wind turbines, oil rigs and other Oil and Gas structures to identify damage mechanisms and behaviours in order to look out for early warning of potential damage caused by the environments they operate in.

Major Responsibilities/Activities

Our Assistant NDT technicians will utilise both advanced and conventional NDT techniques which they will learn from our team. Typical responsibilities for this post include:

  • Ensuring all necessary verification checks are conducted (and recorded where appropriate) on NDT equipment before commencement of operations.
  • Providing results and reports of examinations which can be assessed against specified acceptance criteria.
  • Ensuring all examination reports are uniquely identified and signed as a true record before submission to the customer’s representative.
  • You’ll be involved in ensuring technical instructions provided are adequate for the job. You’ll be involved in learning the technical instructions provided and understanding if they are adequate for the job. ​
  • Ensuring that all applicable rules and regulations, relevant to safety and the environment are adhered to.
  • Assisting NDT technicians on site and in the work shop.
Minimum Requirements
  • Fundamental knowledge of health and safety work practices.
  • Understanding of IT equipment.
  • Willingness to travel both within the UK and overseas and work out of core hours as required.
  • Comfortable with working at height and confined spaces.
  • Hold a current passport and driving licence with not more than 3 points on it.
