Princeton Junction, NJ – January 2008 – Physical Acoustics Corporation (PAC), a member of MISTRAS Group Inc., announces the supply of the 5131-VPAC System to the Tesoro Refining and Marketing Company for the Golden Eagle Refinery in Martinez, Ca.
The VPAC System uses acoustic measurements to detect and quantify through-valve leakage. With this information the user can prioritize valve service or replacement.
The Golden Eagle Refinery’s use of the VPAC will help reduce flare stack emissions and atmospheric blow downs, improve safety, meet clean air requirements and increase operational efficiencies for the San Francisco Bay Area.
“The VPAC System is not only going to allow Tesoro to control emissions, but because of the product loss reduction, the system will allow them to reduce operational and maintenance costs as well,” said Robert Langan, Vice President of Marketing and Sales for PAC.
Tesoro is one of the largest independent refining companies in the United States and produces a full range of petroleum products including gasoline, jet, diesel, heavy fuel oils, liquefied petroleum gas, liquid asphalt, naphtha, propane and butane.
