Mike has over 35 years of experience in nondestructive testing in supporting the nuclear and fossil power generation industry primarily with several years' service to petro-chemical and aerospace industries.
He holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Management from Fairleigh Dickinson University and Master of Science Degree from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.
Mike currently serves MISTRAS Group, Inc., as Director of Training and Certification, bringing the first web based training program to the company for over 1,200 inspectors. He previously provided
NDT Level III and QA program services for five years to Everest VIT/GE Inspection Technology. He also served Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI) for two years as Manager of
NDE Instruction. Prior to that, he served 22 years with General Public Utilities Nuclear (GPUN) as a
NDE Level III with 12 years in the training department. Additionally, he was an
NDT Lab manager. Before that he was
NDT Level III and QA Engineer for nuclear components manufacturer. He also served four years in the United States Navy, tending Fleet Ballistic Nuclear Submarines.
Mike is an ASNT Fellow and ASNT Tutorial Citation award winner. His previous service to ASNT includes various positions of the local chapter leading to Chairman of which 20 years was as the Education Chairman of Metropolitan New York-Northern New Jersey Section. At the national level he spent six years on the National Certification Board, and Chairman of Visual-Technical, Visual-Handbook, Visual-Education and Qualification committees and member of SNT-TC-1A committees. He has written several articles published in Materials Evaluation on visual testing and personnel certification. Mike was the technical editor of Volume 8: Visual and Optical Testing,
NDT Handbook published by ASNT and author of the Visual Testing Chapter in the Handbook of Nondestructive Evaluation published by McGraw-Hill.
Mike resides in Denville, New Jersey, with his wife, Marie.
