This course covers the theoretical aspects of visual testing including optics, illumination, and environmental factors. Additionally, metric hand tools for direct visual and borescope for remote visual equipment is addressed. Specifically, the topics of ASME Section XI, in-service inspection, Visual examination, VT-1, general surface conditions including, castings, forgings, extrusions, welds and base materials, VT-2, Leak Testing hydraulic pressure testing, and VT-3 component supports including, hangers, snubbers, restraints. Also addressed under VT-3 are pumps, valves, reactor vessel internals and IWE/IWL concrete containment examinations.

This course exceeds the training hours (24) and content needed for both Visual Testing Level I and II certification in accordance with SNT-TC-1A, 2001 and 2006 and ANSI/ASNT CP-189 2001.
