MISTRAS Group, Inc. Learn Centers provide training and course exams to assure successful transfer of knowledge and skills. Individual certifications are employer provided if SNT-TC-1A based or third party central certification provided if ISO-9712/EN473 based certifications are desired.

MISTRAS Services can provide Outside agency NDT Level III services if desired to assist customers to develop their own in-house certification program. Please see the Mistras Services list for a laboratory nearest you.

RADIATION SAFETY

Duration: 40 hours
Cost: $1150

This course provides training to give general introduction to principles and theory of radiation sufficient to work safely with gamma radiation when producing radiographs in the NDT industry. Emphasis is placed on the details for operating equipment, personnel monitoring devices, radiation detection equipment and instrumentation. Radiographic equipment including exposure devices, sealed sources, storage and transport containers, source changers, and collimators are reviewed. Pertinent federal and state regulations and the general requirements for maintaining records and reports are also reviewed.
