Princeton Junction, NJ - May, 2013 - MISTRAS Group, Inc. (NYSE: MG) is proud to announce that employees at the Phillips 66 Refinery in Ponca City, Oklahoma recently completed a year of incident free work. The feat is another example of MISTRAS' commitment to safety throughout all locations worldwide.
"It's exactly this kind of safety performance that we strive for across the rest of the company," said Chris Smith, Group Vice President, Corporate Compliance. "The team we have at Ponca City is another example of the most
positive components of our culture at work.
"It's MISTRAS' expectation that we can all achieve the same results (the Ponca City) folks have. When you consider it only takes a second to be seriously injured, it speaks volumes to make it a year in such a high-potential environment without sustaining an injury. I applaud the effort and focus of these leaders."
The one-year milestone translates into more than 21,000 incident-free man hours.
"I could not be prouder of the Phillips 66 evergreen team and this impressive safety accomplishment," said Colm
Walsh, General Manager of the MISTRAS Torrance, CA lab that services the Ponca City evergreen site. "It's a true
credit to the kind of dedicated, conscientious employees MISTRAS has and their willingness to look out for each
other's safety and the customer's safety on a daily basis."
From 2009-2012, MISTRAS' company-wide recordable-incident rate has fallen 62 percent. That figure also marks the
fourth consecutive year the recordable-incident rate has decreased.
"This accomplishment shows that Phillips 66 and MISTRAS' commitment to our personal safety is real and not just lip service," said Project Manager David Hatt. "The crew here at Ponca City has a true sense of accomplishment for this award. It will serve as a benchmark of excellence moving forward."
