MISTRAS Awarded for Continuous Safety Achievements

Princeton Junction, NJ - February, 2012 - MISTRAS Group, Inc. (NYSE: MG) announces the receiving of the Chevron Safety Award to MISTRAS' Benicia, California Lab.

The award was presented based on work performed in 2011 by NDT inspectors from the Benicia lab. The MISTRAS team obtained an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recordable rating of zero while performing contracted services at the Chevron refinery in the San Francisco Bay area.

The Chevron Safety award is given out to companies who work incident free, have no lost time and no recordable injuries while contracted with one of the Chevron refineries. Weekly safety audits and quarterly safety meetings are used to evaluate employees throughout the year to determine if the company qualifies for the award.

"The success of MISTRAS' employees at the Chevron Richmond facility in maintaining an incident free work place in 2011 is a testament to their focus, dedication and support of MISTRAS' safety culture," said Chris Smith, Group Vice President, Corporate Compliance. "It is the activities of these employees and their peers across our organization that has helped MISTRAS achieve one of our best incident rates in our safety history. Over the past year, MISTRAS did a remarkable job of lowering our Total Recordable Incident Rate by 44%, highlighting the diligent, safe work our employees perform each and every day."

This is the second time MISTRAS has received the Chevron Safety Award for the Benicia location with the first being in 2010 after MISTRAS completed two major turnarounds at the Chevron Richmond Refinery.
